I am Luke Blevins, an artist based out of Springfield, Missouri. For quite some time I have known that I was a story teller. More accurately I knew that I wanted to tell stories. I make art that represents my life and my experiences along with what I feel are universal truths to human nature.
In my work I use repetition along with a personal narrative to draw attention to superficial and stereotypical views. This is done in a variety of ways, often beginning with a singular event or experience that touches on larger subjects. I am interested in a collage inspired format, using found imagery as well as my own photography. Both are intended to represent the glossed society and cookie cutter way minorities are categorized and often dismissed. My imagery is layered levels of information that conceptually address my own perception of the world and my place in it.
